As part of our collaboration efforts in the peanut value chain, we work with various stakeholders, including Egerton University, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Koppert Kenya, the World Food Program’s Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA), and farmers in key growing areas, including newly identified peanut-growing regions in semi-arid parts of Kenya.
These efforts aim to scale up local peanut production, substituting imports, saving the country foreign exchange, improving access to raw materials for processing, and providing reliable employment opportunities in both urban and rural areas. To promote sustainability, we advocate for the use of regenerative agriculture principles, enhanced seed varieties, and aflatoxin control technologies such as Aflasafe to ensure higher yields and good quality crops.
